There are some donation programs associated with Kroger, Amazon and other large retailers that put aside a certain percentage of what you spend to donate to various nonprofits. Please note that we are not endorsing these companies or encouraging you to shop there in order to benefit the church, but if you already shop at these places, it is certainly an easy way to help the church by signing up for their donation programs. Here are a few of the major ones:
Kroger Community Rewards
Every quarter, Kroger Community Rewards distributes donations to a number of area nonprofits. If you shop at Kroger, please consider signing up. Signing up will NOT change anything about the individual benefits you receive from shopping. It will just mean that in addition, Holy Rosary St. John gets a donation. Details on how to sign up at hrsjchurch.org/rewards.html.
To sign up for Amazon Smile, go to smile.amazon.com, sign in with your usual Amazon sign-in, then in the box that says “pick your own charitable organization,” put “Holy Rosary St. John," and hit return. Select “Community of Holy Rosary-St. Johns RC Church” (our official IRS name). It’s that easy. Now, all of your eligible Amazon purchases (not all are eligible) will benefit Holy Rosary/St. John at 50 cents for every $100 you spend. Remember, you have to shop from smile.amazon.com rather than from the regular site to earn these donations, so if you have the Amazon page bookmarked, change the bookmark to Amazon Smile after you sign up.
To sign up for iGive, go to iGive.com and fill out the registration form. Click on “Choose Cause” and then “Search by Name.” Put in “Holy Rosary” (including the St. John simply confuses it), and then look for “The Community of Holy Rosary & St. John the Evangelist” on the list. Amount donated varies. You will get an email with different deals each week. With some stores, you will have to confirm that you want a donation to go to Holy Rosary St. John with your purchase.
